Hosted by United State Hydrogen Alliance's Executive Director, Roxana Bekemohammadi, United State Hydrogen Alliance will be joined by energy lawyers John L. Clancy and Mark Bender with firm Godfrey & Kahn. As part of their Energy Strategies practice, both John and Mark regularly present around the country on topics related to the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Roxana Bekemohammadi
Roxana is a hydrogen and fuel cell thought leader with a unique background and expertise she gained through legislative advocacy, public service and laboratory experience.
Roxana was a graduate researcher on the world’s first demonstration of tri-generation of hydrogen, electricity, and heat from a stationary fuel cell. She then went on to serve as a hydrogen expert for the California Air Resources Board (CARB). During her time at CARB, she helped develop and implement two landmark clean transportation initiatives.
She holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from the National Fuel Cell Research Center and earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

John L. Clancy
John L. Clancy leads G&K’s Energy Strategies team. John’s extensive experience includes providing advice on funding opportunities for renewable energy, large energy efficiency projects and electric vehicle infrastructure, siting of energy facilities, negotiation of power purchase agreements, acquisition of energy facilities, certification and transfers of renewable energy credits, land use and transmission line issues, negotiation of individualized energy tariffs, and intervention in regulatory rate cases. John has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America (Environmental Law), America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and Wisconsin Superlawyers.

Mark Bender
Mark Bender is an energy and regulatory attorney with Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. and a member of the firm’s Energy practice group. The focus of Mark’s practice is advising clients on their interactions with local, state and federal government. Mark assists clients with a wide range of energy issues, including renewable energy development projects, tax credits, and other energy financing solutions for energy users, developers and investors. Prior to joining Godfrey & Kahn, Mark served as the chief advisor to a Commissioner at the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW), where he was involved at the highest levels of state utility regulation. Mark also has a decade of legislative, political, and trade association government affairs experience.
